# How to Add Courses to Your Classes

## This article covers how to add courses to your classes. You and your students have no access to any courses until you do this.

### What you see when you log in

Your dashboard shows the classes you are assigned to in your LMS, as a teacher or a co-teacher. Each class has its own class card.

### Add a course to a class

1. Go to your dashboard.
2. Find the class card for the class you want to add a course to.
3. Click the course link on the class card.

4. On the new page, click **+ Add Course** in the upper right corner.

5. The library opens. It shows all courses your school or district has purchased.
6. Check the box next to each course you want to use.
7. Click **Save**.

**You and your students now have access to the course. The course also shows up in your LMS.**

### Next step: choose your pacing mode

Before you start teaching, decide how you want to run the course.

- **Student-paced:** Students move through the course at their own speed. This is the default.
- **Teacher-assigned:** You set start and due dates for each assignment.

### Common questions

**Why do I not see a class on my dashboard?** Your dashboard shows the classes you are assigned to in your LMS, as a teacher or a co-teacher. If a class is missing, check that you are assigned to it in your LMS first.

**Why do I not see a course in the library?** The library only shows courses your school or district has purchased. 

**Can I add more than one course to a class?** Yes. Check the box next to each course you want to use, then click Save.

**Do my students get access when I add a course?** Yes. Once you save, you and your students have access to the course,and it shows up in your LMS.
