Back to School Updates- 08/13/26
Tips and updates on teacher and student account acces, WBL grading and co-teachers, assignment & gradebook questions, and more
We know starting the school year on a new platform is a change, and we want to make that transition as smooth as possible.
As you get your classes set up and your students get started, we've pulled together a few of the most common questions we're hearing from teachers. These are organized in the order you're most likely to encounter them during the first few days back.
This week’s quick guide includes
- New Platform: Make sure you’re logging into learn.220leadership.com, not our old platform (app.220leadership) and using the newest learning content
- Work-Based Learning: what to do with the 220 Co-Teacher account and which assignments you should not grade
- Teacher and student account access: when your account and classes will be available, the first thing to do when you login, and what to do if students are missing from your roster
- Assignments: why you may see “duplicate” assignments (they’re additional attempts or manually assigned by you), why 0% scores might be displaying to students
- Setting up your Class: how to control pacing and archive classes you’re not using
- Language Translation: what options are available now for students
- Grade passback: what to expect while this connection is being updated
NEW PLATFORM
Having login issues? Make sure you’re logging into our new platform!
For the 2026-27 school year, we’re on a new platform and new url:
🔗 learn.220leadership.com
If your school is using SSO, you may be logged in automatically. If you hit the login screen and your school is using SSO, make sure you click on “Sign in through your LMS”. Follow the prompts to ensure you’re logged into the school system our platform is using for your SSO.

Are your students using workbooks from the previous year? We have retired these workbooks.
We are on a new platform for the 2026-27 school year, and that means a new student learning experience as well. This migration was driven by your feedback, which included comments that the full Google workbooks for Work-Based Learning, Preparing for College & Careers, Personal Financial Responsibility and Computing Foundations were difficult to manage simultaneously with the online course and any additional external tool they were using.
We have eliminated these workbooks for WBL, PCC and Computing Foundations, and the PFR workbook is substantially smaller with significantly fewer student inputs required and optional grading.
Your students should switch over to the new platform and content as soon as possible to give you and your students the newest, improved 220 learning experience.
If you have any questions about this, reach out to our Support Team (support@220leadership.com).
FOR WORK-BASED LEARNING TEACHERS
Do not grade the black assignment card (“Own the Work” assignment)
Work-Based Learning courses show two different colored course cards.
- Optionally grade the work in your purple course card as the teacher
- Leave the black course card to the 220 Team.
The black card holds the final work products that the 220 team grades. Leaving those assignments for our team ensures students receive the appropriate score and that the required employer interaction component is properly documented.
Quick rule: purple card is yours to grade, black card is ours.

Keep the 220 co-teacher in your class
You will see a co-teacher in your Work-Based Learning class with a name you don't recognize like Nina Govedar, or a username like WBL+yourschool@220leadership.com. That is us.
This account is there so we can evaluate the final work products in the black card. It also supports the required employer interaction component for the experience to count as Work-Based Learning. For now, please leave the 220 co-teacher in your class. We’re working toward a more direct solution within the platform, but this setup allows our team to support you in the meantime.

YOUR ACCOUNT ACCESS, CLASSES AND ROSTER
Waiting on your teacher account to be activated?
Account access will be granted after you complete the short teacher training for your 220 course. Once a teacher finishes it and submits the completion form, our team sets up the account and sends a login email when it is ready, usually within one business day.

Students missing from the roster?
New students and rosters take up to 48 hours to sync and it is often faster. If someone is still missing after 48 hours and looks correct on the school side, contact support and we will push it through. While they wait, students can work alongside another student so they’re ready once their account is active.

FIRST STEP AFTER YOU LOG IN
Make sure your class is set up, then add your course
If your school uses an integration for rostering with 220, your classes should be there as soon as your account is active.
Add the 220 course(s) you are teaching to your class from either the Classes page (click the “Course” link on your class) or the library.
If you self-registered, create your class first, then add your course.

GRADEBOOK, ASSIGNMENTS AND ATTEMPTS
Seeing duplicate assignments, or an empty gradebook?
If you see a student listed twice in your gradebook for the same assignment, that happens for one of two reasons:
- You manually assigned work to students that is already assigned by default
- The student has multiple attempts available for that assignment and clicked “Start” more than once
Students only need to complete one of the assignments, the duplicates will not affect their grade. You can delete these duplicates from the gradebook if helpful.
Your modules are already assigned automatically when students are enrolled. You do not need to assign them out.
An assignment shows up in your gradebook once the first student clicks Start on it, so an empty gradebook early in the week is normal.
We are actively updating lessons and reflections to one attempt, so students no longer create duplicate copies by clicking Start again. Quizzes still allow more than one.
To give a student another try on an assignment, open the gradebook and choose Unsubmit to let them keep working, or reassign the item to have them start over.

Students seeing 0% on practice work?
Some practice lessons are worth zero points and show 0% before they are scored. This does not change your students’ grades.
If the 0% is causing worry, you can hide it. In the gradebook for that item, turn off Release to reports so it drops out of your reports, and turn off Release grades to students so students stop seeing it.
Their real grade stays the same, because the item is worth zero points. We have set this on most courses and are finishing the last few mini-courses.

Reading student work without grading it?
Click Give Full Credit first. When you open a student's response and leave without scoring it, the platform saves a 0 until you go back and grade it. If you are only reading a reflection, click Give Full Credit before you move on. It is one click. In the gradebook, a pencil icon means an item needs grading and an eye icon means there is nothing to grade.

SETTING UP YOUR CLASSES
Want to control student pacing and hide modules?
By default, our courses allow students to work at their own pace. As the teacher, you can change this by hiding modules students are not actively working on yet.

Too many classes on screen?
To clear a class you will not use, open “Class Settings”, change the status from Active to Archived, and save.

TRANSLATION
Need a lesson in another language?
Students can use Google Translate or another translation tool. Have students highlight the text on the page, right-click, choose Translate Selection, and pick their language. This works for any language the Chrome browser supports.
Videos have subtitles and transcripts available in both English and Spanish.
Our in-platform translation tool will be available soon.

FOR DISTRICTS INTEGRATED WITH YOUR LMS OR SIS
Grades not showing in your school system yet?
If your school passes grades from 220 to Canvas or another system, that connection is being updated. Your grades are safe inside the course. We will confirm how grades sync once the fix is live.
We will continue to support you as you learn the new platform and features available to you.
If something is not covered here, reply to this email or reach us at support@220leadership.com. More next week.
We’re grateful for you and the work you do.
Thank you,
The 220 Team
